Hello there, and thank you for checking out my corner of the internet!
I am Cat G, and Cat G Design is my maker business that I’ve been cultivating since 2018. I live with my husband and our asshole cat in a small town near Syracuse, New York and I prefer the winter, which we have plenty of each year.
When I’m not working on Cat G Design (mentally: never not working on it), I have a day job in the legal field, and am also closely involved with my local library and the community. I live in the best small town, and the people are great. And that’s coming from a total introvert, so that’s worth it’s weight in gold.
Besides making paper earrings out of fashion magazines, I love to read and knit. In fact, one of my favorite things to do is to spend most of a day switching between the two. I spent my childhood reading. I usually gravitate between YA fiction and crime thrillers. I have a novel in progress that I’ve been working on for 6 years now. Yikes. (I’m a very slow writer, did I mention that yet?) I am a fan of space operas, and haunted houses, and adventures across strange lands. Sometimes I’m in the mood for heart racing, blood curdling really messed up serial killer vibes.
When I’m knitting, I’m usually listening to a book or a business related podcast. I’ve been knitting since 2016, but really got serious about it in 2019. Believe it or not, it was not that much of a quarantine-developed hobby (I was too busy making and selling paper earrings!). I am madly, deeply in love with fiber and yarn and sheepies, and I’m really hoping that there are some fiber festivals to go to in the near future. Knitting might become a larger part of Cat G Design in the future, but it’s on a back burner for now.
One thing to know about me, is I’m a strong believer in fostering relationships with other small businesses and creatives, and I try to help other business owners promote their work and art as much as I can. That is why I’m developing the Meet the Maker page on this website, and lining up amazing small business owners to partake. I am excited about the plans I have for that part of Cat G Design and I hope you stick around the see how it plays out 🙂
Thank you for stopping by and checking out Cat G Design and learning more about me. I greatly appreciate the support I’ve been shown on this creative journey.
